Director of People Operations

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-scaling legal technology company that is transforming how legal professionals work. Our client has built an AI-native platform trusted by leading law firms and corporate legal departments across 50+ countries, and they continue to expand globally through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

We're seeking a Director of People Operations to join their London office and own the operational backbone of the employee experience across their distributed workforce in Europe, North America, and APAC.

Responsibilities

You will operationalize the complete employee lifecycle, ensuring every touchpoint is supported by clean systems, accurate data, and scalable processes:

• Own the full employee lifecycle operationally, from offer acceptance through exit, with every stage mapped, documented, and supported end-to-end
• Maintain HRIS integrity and serve as the single source of truth for employee data, including onboarding new hires, data entry, quality assurance, and ensuring audit-readiness
• Manage contracts and employee changes including addendums, transfers, salary adjustments, and reporting-line changes, partnering closely with Payroll for accurate execution
• Administer benefits and leave programs across multiple markets, executing policies designed by Total Rewards and escalating complex or contested cases appropriately
• Build and manage a local HR Generalist layer as the company enters new markets, creating in-market presence for day-to-day employee and manager support
• Lead a distributed People Operations team across Stockholm and New York, reporting to the VP of People Operations
• Drive adoption and optimization of the People tech stack, removing manual work and improving efficiency
• Design and document scalable processes and SOPs for all employee-facing programs
• Ensure compliance across EMEA, AMER, and APAC jurisdictions, partnering with Legal and Finance teams
• Own people data quality and reporting infrastructure that powers analytics for the business

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years in People Operations or HR Operations, with proven experience leading teams and building local HR capability as a company scales globally
• Deep HRIS expertise across complex system landscapes, with strong focus on data quality, integrations, and automation
• Track record of building and scaling international lifecycle processes and standard operating procedures
• Strong understanding of multi-jurisdiction employment compliance across EMEA, AMER, and APAC regions
• Clear judgment on operational ownership boundaries and appropriate escalation paths to Employee Relations, Legal, or Total Rewards
• Operator's mindset: detail-obsessed, systems-thinking, with exceptionally high standards for accuracy
• Comfortable partnering across Finance, Legal, and IT functions
• Excellent communication skills with employees and leadership at all levels
• Fluency in English required
