Associate Applied (AI) Value Engineer (DACH) – Orbit Program

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential enterprise software organization in their search for an Associate Applied AI Value Engineer based in Munich. This role is part of a structured 12-month graduate development program with initial onboarding in Madrid for two years, followed by potential relocation to Munich. You'll serve customers primarily in the DACH region with regular travel to meet clients in person.

As an Applied AI Value Engineer, you will work at the intersection of technology and business, serving as a trusted advisor to strategic enterprise customers. Your core responsibilities include:

• AI Discovery and Solution Design: Understand customer AI strategies and business-critical challenges, translating requirements into innovative solutions that address their most pressing problems
• Rapid Prototyping: Participate in customer hackathons, leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies to build creative prototypes that solve complex business problems
• Process Intelligence Implementation: Support customers in achieving measurable ROI from AI deployments at scale, enabling autonomous AI agents powered by process intelligence platforms
• Proof-of-Value Projects: Execute end-to-end business-critical proof projects, showcasing platform value tailored to customer needs and aligned with their AI strategy
• Domain Specialization: Develop deep expertise in specific domains such as supply chain or particular industries to scale knowledge across the organization
• Executive Presentations: Articulate and quantify strategic business value, delivering impactful presentations to senior executives
• Value Realization: Remain engaged with projects until agreed value and adoption thresholds are reached
• Best Practice Development: Create reusable collateral, best practices, and tools for the global team

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Data Analytics/Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related STEM field with excellent academic performance
• Extensive internship experience or 1-2 years of full-time work experience, ideally at the intersection of business and technology
• Understanding of generative AI techniques including RAG, few-shot learning, prompt/context engineering, multi-agent orchestration, multimodal understanding, or fine-tuning
• Strong knowledge of Python and common ML libraries such as LangChain, pandas, pydantic, sklearn, and PyTorch
• Familiarity with data engineering tools and technologies
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with ability to apply technology to business challenges
• Customer-centric mindset focused on delivering value
• Confidence presenting to diverse audiences including executives
• Proactive problem-solving approach with willingness to learn from mistakes
• Self-motivation, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning in fast-paced environments
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Fluency in both German and English (mandatory)
• Foundational business acumen and domain understanding in areas such as Supply Chain

Preferred Experience:

• Degrees combining technical and business skills
• Customer-facing, customer success, or sales experience
• Hands-on experience with technical Proof of Concept projects
• Experience building agentic systems using LLM orchestration, RAG, function calling, and prompt engineering
• Knowledge of tools in the LLM ecosystem such as LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Supply Chain process experience in Procurement, Order Management, Inventory Management, or Production
• Experience modeling ROI and TCO for business case justification
• Familiarity with ERPs such as SAP or Oracle
