About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization in their search for a working student to support policy and regulatory affairs. This is an excellent opportunity for a politically engaged student to gain hands-on experience in energy policy while contributing to meaningful regulatory work at the intersection of clean technology and legislative affairs.

Location: Berlin
Type: Working student position (Werkstudent:in)
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week during term, up to 40 hours during semester breaks

Responsibilities

  • Monitor ongoing legislative processes at federal and EU levels, analyzing their implications for products and customers
  • Independently track specific policy dossiers and keep the team informed of developments
  • Research and contribute to position papers and official statements, from reviewing legislative texts to final drafting
  • Prepare briefings for meetings with parliamentarians, ministries, and industry associations; attend meetings and document outcomes
  • Support coalition-building efforts with other companies in the sector
  • Expand stakeholder databases and develop monitoring tools

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled at a German university for at least two more semesters in Political Science, Law, Economics, Energy Economics, or a related field
  • Initial experience in political advocacy or public affairs, with understanding of legislative processes
  • Interest in working through complex legal and regulatory texts, with curiosity about the technical and economic aspects of energy transition—not just the political dimension
  • Structured, reliable, and independent working style; thorough approach to research and source verification before including data in position papers
  • Clear writing skills in German with ability to work through English-language EU documents
  • Enthusiasm for working with tools and automation rather than repeating manual tasks
  • Confident communication skills in German and English; negotiation-level proficiency in Dutch, Spanish, or Swedish is a plus
