Product Manager Mission Payload Land (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization in their search for a Product Manager to lead mission payload strategy and integration across their unmanned ground vehicle portfolio. This is a critical role at the intersection of customer requirements, technical execution, and commercial partnership development.

Working from Gilching, Bayern, you will own the complete product lifecycle for payload capabilities—from market screening and vendor partnerships through prototyping, integration, and operational deployment. You'll work directly with payload suppliers across ISR, electronic warfare, communications, and other mission-critical domains.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the vision, roadmap, and lifecycle management for mission payload integration across the unmanned vehicle portfolio
• Screen the market to identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with payload vendors across multiple operational domains
• Drive prototyping and experimental integration activities, including mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces
• Make informed build-or-buy decisions based on mission utility, technical feasibility, and commercial viability
• Serve as the primary interface between external payload suppliers, customer stakeholders, and internal engineering teams
• Consolidate field operational insights and customer feedback to continuously prioritize and ship new capabilities
• Balance tactical mission requirements against platform constraints while defining executable configurations

What We're Looking For

• Multiple years of hands-on experience in technical product management, project management, or systems engineering
• Background at a defense electronics, C4ISR, or sensor subsystem OEM strongly preferred
• Strong commercial instincts paired with solid technical foundation to bridge engineering and customer stakeholder conversations
• Proven ability to deliver results in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Fluency in English required; German language skills are a plus
• Ability to work on-site in Gilching, Bayern
