Associate Product Owner

Overview

We are representing a confidential B2B SaaS organization in Berlin that is building infrastructure for enterprise innovation programs. They need an Associate Product Owner who can translate validated opportunities into clearly scoped, shippable work.

This is a full-time, on-site role with no remote option. You'll work directly alongside the product lead, owning the complete lifecycle from initial concept through to shipped feature—including specifications, acceptance criteria, dependency mapping, and backlog integrity.

Responsibilities

• Write detailed specifications that engineers can start building from immediately, including acceptance criteria, edge cases, and dependencies
• Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring transparency around what is in flight, blocked, or drifting
• Translate customer feedback from support threads, customer success conversations, and call notes into actionable engineering work
• Coordinate releases and verify that shipped features match original scope
• Present product decisions to stakeholders ranging from engineering teams to enterprise clients
• Scope deep integrations into customer systems, public APIs, embedded AI features, and workflow automation over your first year

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years in a product company where you personally wrote tickets and specifications as a core responsibility
• Technical fluency sufficient to discuss data models, API contracts, and engineering estimates with confidence
• Strong written communication—you understand that a spec is a piece of writing where reasoning must be visible
• Ability to synthesize product direction, client feedback, and team knowledge into specifications worth building
• Sharp design sensibility and intuition for what feels good to users; comfortable building prototypes with AI to illustrate specs visually
• Experience at a company small enough that there was nowhere to hide from the consequences of poor scoping
• Daily fluency with AI tooling in your workflow
• Openness to direct, frequent coaching on your work with the goal of rapidly increasing autonomy
• Ambition to eventually own major initiatives, roadmap decisions, and become the person others bring complex questions to

Preferred but not required:

• B2B enterprise SaaS background
• Familiarity with corporate innovation or startup ecosystem workflows
• Notion experience
