About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential geospatial technology organization based in Munich that develops solutions for natural resource management and environmental protection. Our talent team is seeking a GIS Developer/Geoinformatics Specialist (all genders) for a full-time or part-time position (minimum 32 hours per week).

This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects related to drinking water protection, climate initiatives, and conservation efforts using cutting-edge GIS technologies and machine learning approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain QGIS-based software solutions and Geoserver applications for sustainable resource management
  • Build data processing pipelines for GIS and remote sensing data using Python and R
  • Create machine learning models for analyzing remote sensing data from drones and satellites
  • Apply and integrate AI tools into development workflows
  • Provide client consulting and second-level technical support for applications

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • Completed university degree in Geoinformatics or comparable qualification
  • Initial professional experience in GIS development

Technical Skills:

  • Experience developing QGIS plugins with Python
  • Proficiency in data processing applications using Python and R
  • Foundational knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Working knowledge of GeoServer and geodata processing/provisioning
  • Experience analyzing satellite and remote sensing data with machine learning methods
  • Database experience: PostgreSQL/PostGIS and MS SQL Server
  • Operating systems: Windows and Linux
  • Familiarity with agile development methods and project management tools (e.g., Jira)

Language & Soft Skills:

  • Strong German and English language skills required
  • French language skills advantageous for international projects
  • Self-directed problem solver with strong analytical capabilities
  • Careful, forward-thinking work style
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and end users

Working Arrangements

  • Location: Munich, Germany
  • Schedule: Full-time or part-time (minimum 32 hours per week)
