About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential open-source database platform client in their search for a Developer Relations Engineer based in London, UK. Our client provides a comprehensive backend development platform used by hundreds of thousands of developers worldwide. This role is critical to helping developers discover, learn, and build with their suite of integrated services including database, authentication, storage, and real-time features.
As a Developer Relations Engineer, you'll create high-impact technical content, build real-world projects, and represent our client across communities and events. Responsibilities
- Publish compelling technical content, with emphasis on video tutorials, to help developers learn the platform quickly
- Build and ship real-world demonstration applications using modern frameworks like Next.js, React, and integration tools
- Create comprehensive guides and tutorials that developers can follow and adapt to their own projects
- Speak at meetups, conduct livestream coding sessions, and engage actively with the developer ecosystem
- Serve as a visible and trusted voice of the platform across multiple channels
- Support and grow the developer community by celebrating contributors, answering questions, and highlighting community projects
- Bring developer feedback to internal teams to improve the product experience
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and growth teams to amplify feature launches and reduce onboarding friction
- Maintain an active presence in the London tech ecosystem through regular in-person events and video production
What We're Looking For
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong engineering skills with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL databases
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Svelte, or Vue
- Proven track record creating technical content in written or video format
- Comfortable representing a product publicly—on camera, on stage, or through online channels
- Full-stack application development experience
- Self-directed, organized approach to work
- Passion for sharing technical knowledge and helping others learn
Bonus Qualifications:
- Growing audience on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, or other developer platforms
- Prior experience in Developer Relations or DevRel roles
- Active contributions to open-source projects
- Experience with the open-source database ecosystem
Location Requirements:
This role is based in London, UK to support regular in-person developer relations activities, video shoots, and participation in the local tech community. Our client operates remotely but values a strong London presence for this position.
