English to Spanish (LatAm) for Life Sciences Linguist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential life sciences organization that requires specialized linguistic support for clinical and regulatory content. Our talent team is seeking experienced English to Spanish (LatAm) linguists with deep expertise in clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Translate clinical research, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance documents from English to Spanish (Latin American Spanish)
• Perform Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) on machine-translated safety and regulatory content
• Conduct copy editing and translation review to ensure accuracy, appropriate tone, and terminology consistency
• Meet strict, non-extendable turnaround times for time-sensitive clinical and safety content
• Work within CAT tool environments (XTM/Phrase) and utilize Track Changes in Microsoft Word following project-specific guidelines
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and quality standards consistent with regulated environments

Document types include: clinical protocols and synopses, investigator brochures, informed consent forms, patient-facing materials, SmPC, PIL, labels, CTD modules, PSUR, DSUR, RMP, and adverse event reports.

What We're Looking For

Educational background (must meet at least one):

• Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or equivalent), OR
• Graduate qualification in any field plus minimum two years of full-time professional translation experience, OR
• Minimum five years of full-time professional translation experience

Required experience and skills:

• At least two years of practical translation experience specifically with life sciences content (clinical trials and pharmacovigilance) and medical documents
• Native-level fluency in Spanish (Latin American variants)
• Familiarity with CAT tools (XTM/Phrase experience preferred; license will be provided)
• Proficiency with Track Changes in Microsoft Word

Preferred qualifications:

• Degree in Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Clinical Research, or related scientific field
• In-house experience at a CRO or pharmaceutical company
