Senior Business Intelligence Lead (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential EV infrastructure organization based in München that is addressing a critical challenge: ensuring teams make decisions based on consistent, trustworthy data. This isn't about building more dashboards—it's about creating the shared foundation that makes every dashboard reliable.

As their Senior Business Intelligence Lead, you'll own the certified data layer: the single source of truth for core metrics across finance, product, sales, marketing, and operations. When two numbers disagree, you'll be the authority who determines which to trust.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain core business metrics in collaboration with Finance, Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Engineering, and Platform teams
• Establish and enforce data contracts and metric definitions with the teams that own them
• Build and verify the certified data layer using ETL tools, ensuring teams can confidently build their own dashboards on top of it
• Use SQL to validate data integrity, investigate inconsistencies, and trace metrics back to source systems
• Partner with the Platform team to identify improvements in data flows, pipelines, and transformations, advising on priorities during planning cycles
• Resolve conflicts when reports disagree, providing clear guidance on which metrics to trust
• Improve organizational data literacy through workshops, practical guidance, and clear documentation
• Leverage AI-assisted tools for analysis, documentation, and workflow automation while carefully validating outputs

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Senior-level experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data roles; scale-up experience is valuable
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to read, write, validate data, and trace metric origins
• Proven experience defining KPIs in collaboration with Finance and other business stakeholders
• Hands-on experience with data models, data quality frameworks, or data governance
• Solid understanding of data flows, pipelines, and transformation processes
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and challenging unclear or incorrect metrics
• Business-minded, practical approach that connects business questions with data solutions
• Experience with automation, AI agents, or AI-supported workflows
• Fluent written and spoken English; German is a plus

Preferred experience:

• Familiarity with tools such as Metabase, dbt, AWS Glue, Spark, Airbyte, or comparable platforms
• Background in workshops, enablement programs, or data literacy initiatives
• Experience in B2B SaaS, EV charging, energy, mobility, or related sectors

Important note: This is not a role where you'll own every dashboard request or manage a team. Business units remain responsible for their own dashboards and analyses built on the data contracts you establish. This is a hands-on technical leadership position focused on data quality and governance.
