IT Infrastructure Engineer (RMA & Diag)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer (RMA & Diagnostics) in Newport. In this role, you will troubleshoot and resolve complex data center IT hardware issues and manage warranty replacement processes. This position sits at the intersection of multiple technical and operational domains.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Solving the most challenging firmware and hardware-related issues with servers, requiring in-depth knowledge of system architecture and advanced troubleshooting techniques
• Executing workarounds and solutions for IT hardware problems
• Serving as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for L1 and L2 technicians
• Creating new processes and documentation for the IT hardware team
• Collaborating with vendors on warranty replacements (RMA), including creating and managing requests
• Improving support processes, documentation, and training materials
• Working with related departments to enhance overall operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Knowledge of data centers and server equipment
• Deep knowledge of IT hardware with practical troubleshooting experience
• Proficiency working with Unix/Linux operating systems and command line
• Experience with equipment monitoring, data analysis, and presentation
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of responsibility
• High proficiency in spoken and written English

Bonus qualifications:

• Skills in repairing electronics at the component level (SMD)
• Knowledge of network equipment and troubleshooting
• Driving license type B
