About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing creative agency based in Cologne that specializes in social-first advertising and organic content for well-known brands across multiple industries. Our client works with a lean, ambitious team and is now looking for a Junior Video Editor who wants to specialize in social media content and grow quickly in this dynamic field.

This is not a traditional graphic design, corporate video, or long-form editing role. The focus is on short, attention-grabbing video ads and social content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Meta platforms.

You don't need to be a senior editor yet, but you should have already cut social media videos and be able to demonstrate through your portfolio that you understand pacing, hooks, and platform-specific content. Personal projects, spec ads, or videos for your own accounts all count.

Responsibilities

Our client produces social media ads and organic content across many different brands and industries. One day you might be editing material from a high-end furniture shoot, the next a comedy video featuring a luxury car, followed by a quick UGC ad for a skincare brand.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Editing social media ads in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Cutting TikToks, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Selecting the strongest takes, hooks, and scenes
• Building videos based on scripts and storyboards
• Adding subtitles, sound design, music, and simple animations
• Developing appropriate editing styles for different brands and target audiences
• Creating different variants and hooks for performance testing
• Occasionally adapting simple advertising graphics and static ads

What We're Looking For

Essential requirements:

• Confident and efficient work in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Previous experience editing multiple short social media videos
• Understanding that TikToks, Reels, and social ads function differently than traditional corporate videos
• Strong sense of pacing, timing, storytelling, music, and visual attention
• Engagement with current social media formats, trends, and editing styles
• Interest in understanding why certain ads perform better than others
• Structured, reliable work habits and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to implement feedback quickly and organize work independently
• Priority on quality and timely delivery over getting lost in unimportant details
• Very good German language skills

Bonus qualifications:

• Initial experience with social media ads or UGC ads
• Basic knowledge of After Effects
• Experience with Photoshop or Canva
• Understanding of Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, or performance marketing
• Agency experience or work with multiple client projects

You don't need to meet every point. What matters is that you've already cut social content and want to develop further in exactly this area.

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process based on your experience level and portfolio strength.
