About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential biopharmaceutical client in their search for a Senior Medical Science Liaison. Our client is advancing late-stage investigational therapies for patients with rare metabolic and endocrine conditions. This field-based role requires a scientifically credible professional who can engage with leading academic and clinical experts across the United States to support medical education, data generation, and launch readiness initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare providers in metabolic and oncology therapeutic areas
- Execute field engagement plans aligned with medical affairs strategy and product launch readiness
- Capture, analyze, and report field-based medical and scientific insights to inform strategic decision-making
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals in a timely, accurate, and balanced manner
- Provide scientific support for medical education activities including congress presentations, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and training initiatives
- Critically evaluate emerging scientific literature and evidence to provide insights that inform internal strategy and external engagement
- Support data generation activities including clinical studies and expanded access programs
- Document and report adverse events and product complaints according to company policy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with research, clinical development, regulatory, and commercial teams
- Maintain current knowledge of therapeutic areas, clinical research trends, and competitive landscape
What We're Looking For
Required Education & Experience:
- Advanced medical or clinical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, PA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an MSL or in a comparable industry or clinical role
- Minimum 2 years' experience in rare disease settings
- Valid driver's license and residence within 60 miles of a major airport
Required Skills & Capabilities:
- Ability to research, critically analyze, and communicate complex scientific and medical information
- Clear and concise communication and presentation skills
- Excellent planning and organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong strategic mindset and business acumen
- Demonstrated ability to develop trust and relationships with opinion leaders
- Highly self-motivated with ability to work autonomously
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft suite of products and digital platforms
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based medical personnel
- Willingness to travel 60-75% of the time, including domestic and international travel

- Strong track record of success as a Medical Science Liaison
- Leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of additional languages
