Senior Electronics Engineer EW (All Genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defence technology client seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer specializing in Electronic Warfare systems. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical autonomous and EW platforms that operate in contested electromagnetic environments. You'll join a lean, systems-focused engineering team in Berlin where technical leadership and cross-domain problem-solving define the culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead complete board design cycles using Altium Designer, establishing standards for High-Density Interconnect (HDI) techniques, stackup strategies, and complex high-frequency routing
• Oversee design, simulation, and implementation of custom RF components, matching networks, and signal conditioning chains for contested operational environments
• Direct antenna design and placement simulations using CST Studio Suite and Altair FEKO to optimize RF performance and mitigate co-site interference
• Drive mechanical packaging and electro-mechanical integration, collaborating across software, firmware, and mechanical engineering disciplines to ensure seamless platform deployment
• Establish rigorous testing, debugging, and validation frameworks guaranteeing hardware survivability against strict defence and environmental standards
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, review technical designs, and contribute to long-term hardware roadmaps and architectural decisions

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of professional engineering experience leading complex electronic, RF, or hardware systems development
• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer with a proven track record bringing complex HDI, high-speed, and high-frequency PCBs to production
• Deep experience in RF circuit design, matching network optimization, and electromagnetic simulation using CST Studio Suite, Altair FEKO, or equivalent tools
• Proven ability to define multi-layer hardware architectures and translate operational requirements into robust engineering specifications
• Demonstrated technical ownership in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments
• Advanced system-level debugging capability across hardware, RF, software, and firmware boundaries
• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Direct experience in Defence, Aerospace, Telecommunications, or high-reliability hardware sectors strongly preferred
• Deep familiarity with RF spectrum management, signal processing techniques, or Software-Defined Radio (SDR) architectures highly valued
