About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential aerospace organization in their search for an Advanced Staff Thermal Systems Engineer. This is a remote position based in the United States where you'll lead technical development of advanced thermal management systems for aerospace applications.

In this role, you'll serve as both a technical leader and systems architect, taking ownership of complex thermal engineering programs from concept through production. You'll coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, interface directly with clients as the primary technical contact, and mentor junior engineers while shaping the technical direction of innovative aerospace solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain system-level architectures for thermal management programs, including thermal and controls analysis, reliability assessment, and verification methodologies
  • Lead technical execution of development programs, coordinating internal engineering teams and external vendors while managing technical risks and ensuring successful delivery
  • Manage requirements traceability from top-level specifications down through component-level allocations to functional groups and suppliers
  • Serve as primary technical point of contact for clients throughout program lifecycle
  • Drive continuous improvement by researching and recommending new technologies, toolsets, and processes
  • Review and approve transition documentation from prototype to production phases
  • Provide engineering support for root cause analysis and troubleshooting of non-conforming products
  • Contribute to technical strategy and mentor engineering staff as a senior technical leader

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, preferably focused on Thermal Management Systems
  • U.S. Person status (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) due to export-controlled information access requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of systems engineering experience in thermal management applications
  • Deep knowledge of aerospace thermal systems including Vapor Cycle Systems (VCS), Liquid Cooling Systems (LCS), and Air Cycle Systems (ACS)
  • Experience with thermal system components: heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, motor controllers, and separators
  • Working knowledge of requirements management methodologies including traceability, decomposition, and verification/validation processes
  • Familiarity with environmental qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810 and DO-160
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and requirements management platforms
  • Understanding of major aircraft systems: environmental control, powerplant, electrical, hydraulics, and avionics
  • Strong project management, communication, and leadership capabilities
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems and lead cross-functional technical teams
