Cloud Engineer – Fully Remote | Upto $85/hr

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Cloud Engineer to support an innovative evaluation program. This is a fully remote contract role based in Ireland, offering flexible engagement on a per-task basis.

Our client is working at the frontier of AI-assisted infrastructure engineering. You'll use cutting-edge AI coding agents to complete and critically evaluate complex cloud engineering tasks, helping to advance the capabilities of next-generation development tools.

Responsibilities

• Use frontier AI coding agents to complete complex infrastructure engineering tasks
• Review and assess model-generated implementations involving cloud platforms, container orchestration, CI/CD systems, observability tooling, and infrastructure automation
• Identify bugs, edge cases, reliability issues, and potential failure modes in AI-generated outputs
• Compare outputs from multiple AI models to evaluate their respective strengths and weaknesses
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic infrastructure scenarios
• Provide detailed feedback on the quality and production-readiness of generated solutions

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 2+ years of professional DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, or observability tooling
• Regular active use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools
• Ability to critically evaluate model-generated infrastructure and reliability engineering solutions

Preferred:

• Experience supporting production-scale systems
• Background in site reliability engineering or platform engineering

Pay
