Lead Talent Partner – Product and Engineering

We are representing a confidential AI-driven legal technology company in their search for a Lead Talent Partner focused on Product and Engineering hiring. This is a strategic, high-impact role for someone who thrives on building exceptional teams in competitive markets.

Our client is scaling rapidly following significant venture funding and serves leading professional services organizations across the UK and US. They need a talent leader who can partner with their CTO to attract and close world-class Product Engineers and Design Engineers—the kind of low-volume, high-calibre hiring that shapes a company's technical future.

This is a hybrid position based in London, requiring 2-3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

You will own the complete Product and Design Engineering hiring strategy as the CTO's strategic partner:

• Build and maintain forward hiring plans with executive leadership, including forecasting, sequencing, and prioritization
• Own ATS operations (likely Ashby): requisition pipeline, stage design, interviewer pools, and performance metrics
• Provide trusted advisory on market intelligence, compensation benchmarks, org design sequencing, and interview quality signals
• Design and execute an always-on engagement and nurture engine for top Product and Design Engineering talent, independent of active requisitions
• Partner with leadership and marketing to create compelling content, outreach materials, technical narratives, and community activity that differentiates the employer brand
• Establish and report on pipeline health metrics: warm pipeline size by discipline/level, engagement rates, conversion from nurture to offer acceptance, and competitive intelligence
• Personally lead the most senior and business-critical hires at Staff, Principal, and Lead levels
• Protect quality standards for assessment, references, and offer calibration; manage escalations and closing conversations
• Set the operating rhythm for pipeline reviews, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Experience:

• Proven track record hiring in high-growth tech scale-ups with high standards and ambiguity
• Deep immersion in the UK Product and Design Engineering market with an active, credible network
• Experience running meetups or building communities; knowledge of standout practitioners and what motivates them
• Executive-search level craft: demonstrated success closing low-volume, high-calibre engineers through creative, non-standard channels beyond job boards and LinkedIn
• Track record building always-on engagement strategies that convert exceptional talent over time (content, community, referrals, targeted events, high-touch outreach)
• Experience partnering closely with CTOs or technical leadership to define quality bars, design assessments, and calibrate hiring standards
• Strong written narrative and messaging skills; ability to translate technical stories into compelling outreach materials in collaboration with marketing
• Data-informed judgment using metrics as feedback loops for quality and funnel health

What This Role Is Not:

• Not high-volume recruiting—this is low volume, bar-raising work
• Not a "maintain the process" job—you will build and continuously improve the attraction engine
• Not fully remote—UK-first hiring with hybrid working requirements

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £85,000 – £107,000 base salary.
