About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential nonprofit climate organization with a permanent remote opportunity in rural Québec (outside Montreal). This is a part-time Regional Engagement Coordinator role—15 hours per week—focused on grassroots community organizing, volunteer network management, and partnership development. The position is renewable annually and offers the chance to shape regional climate advocacy programming from the ground up.

You'll serve as the bridge between national program leadership and local volunteer networks, building relationships with schools, businesses, and community groups to expand peer-to-peer climate education and municipal-level sustainability initiatives. This role suits someone deeply embedded in Québec's regional climate advocacy network who thrives on coalition-building and volunteer stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing program tools and resources for cultural appropriateness in the Québec regional context; recommend adaptations or new materials
• Conduct outreach to schools, businesses, and organizations to promote climate education presentations and community hub initiatives
• Develop strategic partnerships to position the organization as a leading peer-to-peer climate education provider
• Recruit participants for volunteer leadership trainings and coordinate registration logistics
• Foster collaboration between regional volunteer coordinators across multiple program streams (leadership development, campus organizing, municipal climate hubs)
• Partner with youth engagement staff to organize campus presentations and grow the student volunteer network
• Support participatory democracy projects such as climate data collection and municipal performance benchmarking
• Implement and adapt national programs to regional needs in collaboration with program management
• Provide recommendations to improve volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 3 years in campaign coordination, community engagement, network management, or relationship building for an environmental or community organization
• Strong volunteer coordination, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization experience
• Deep knowledge of climate change science and solutions
• Established presence in Québec's regional network of climate and community advocates
• Extensive community organizing experience
• Full fluency in French (both written and spoken)
• Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences
• Results-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Airtable, data management, and email platforms

Preferred:

• Undergraduate degree in environment, sociology, political science, or related field
• Completion of a climate leadership training program
• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms

Work Environment: Remote position; must be located in rural Québec (outside Montreal). Schedule is Monday–Thursday, generally 9:00–18:00, with occasional flexibility for stakeholder communications across time zones.
