Lead Backend Developer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology client seeking a Lead Backend Developer to join their engineering team in Thailand. In this role, you will:

• Plan and implement key technical initiatives for current and upcoming platform features, delegating tasks as appropriate
• Review, merge, and deploy code submitted by backend team members
• Coordinate with frontend engineers and project managers on project status and technical direction
• Investigate, debug, and resolve backend issues related to server infrastructure and databases
• Shape the technical vision and product roadmap alongside leadership

What We're Looking For

Core qualifications:

• Under 35 years old
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field
• Strong English communication skills for technical collaboration
• All nationalities welcome

Technical requirements:

• Advanced proficiency in Python 3 with hands-on production experience
• Experience writing automated unit tests
• Working knowledge of Celery and Redis for task management
• Proficiency with Django web framework and Django REST Framework
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and relational database design
• Experience with Heroku and CI/CD staging-production pipelines
• Working knowledge of AWS S3 for file hosting
• Proficiency with GitHub in collaborative team environments
• Fluency reading and writing JSON

Bonus skills:

• Web scraping experience with Requests, Beautiful Soup, and Selenium
• Machine learning or natural language processing (NLP) background
