Remote Mortgage Loan Officer (Indiana)

Zillow is hiring a Remote Mortgage Loan Officer to originate and close residential mortgage loans for customers throughout Indiana from a fully remote position. In this role, you'll guide borrowers through every step of their financing journey, helping them secure the right mortgage products to achieve homeownership or refinancing goals.

Role Overview

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Zillow, you'll originate, process, and close home loans for Indiana residents from the flexibility of a remote workspace. You'll be the trusted financial advisor who meets with borrowers, assesses their circumstances, presents suitable loan options, and guides applications through underwriting to approval. Your knowledge of residential financing and genuine care for customer success will be central to the role.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Meet with prospective borrowers to evaluate their financial profiles, credit situations, income, and down payment capacity
• Analyze loan applications and recommend appropriate mortgage programs, rates, and terms
• Prepare complete loan packages with all required documentation and disclosures for submission to underwriting
• Maintain regular communication with borrowers throughout the application review and approval process
• Coordinate with underwriters, appraisers, title companies, and closing teams to resolve conditions and facilitate closing
• Ensure all mortgage transactions comply with federal lending laws, state regulations, and company policy
• Build a strong pipeline of new business through relationship management and referral cultivation

Qualifications

• Current Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license for Indiana, or demonstrated eligibility to obtain one
• Minimum two years of hands-on experience originating residential mortgage loans
• Working knowledge of loan programs, underwriting guidelines, and closing procedures
• Strong ability to communicate clearly with borrowers of diverse financial backgrounds
• Proficiency with mortgage origination software, customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, and standard business applications
• Disciplined approach to compliance, documentation, and loan file accuracy
• Dedicated home office setup with reliable broadband for full-time remote work
• Results-oriented mindset with ability to meet origination targets and support team goals
