Remote Mortgage Loan Officer (Minnesota)

Zillow is hiring a Remote Mortgage Loan Officer for our Minnesota-based team. This is a full-time remote position where you'll help homebuyers navigate the mortgage process from anywhere in the state.

About This Position

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Zillow, you'll be the trusted guide homebuyers turn to when they're ready to secure financing. Working entirely remote from Minnesota, you'll manage the full client journey from initial consultation through loan closing, building lasting relationships while meeting competitive productivity goals. This role combines consultative sales with deep financial acumen—you'll need to listen closely to client needs, present tailored mortgage solutions, and shepherd applications through underwriting with precision and care.

What You'll Do

• Conduct pre-approval meetings and in-depth financial consultations with prospective borrowers
• Walk clients through available loan products, rates, terms, and the true cost of borrowing
• Collect and review financial documentation, tax returns, employment history, and credit reports
• Submit complete, accurate loan applications and manage the approval workflow
• Communicate proactively with underwriters, appraisers, and closing teams to keep deals on track
• Stay current with lending regulations, compliance requirements, and lending guidelines
• Build a strong referral network and handle inbound leads effectively
• Achieve monthly and quarterly loan volume targets

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid mortgage license (or ability to obtain one in Minnesota)
• Proven sales experience—mortgage, banking, financial services, or B2C sales preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to explain complex financial products in plain language
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple applications simultaneously
• Self-motivated and able to thrive working independently from a remote location
• Proficiency with computers and comfort learning lending software platforms
