Senior Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join their central accounting team in Berlin. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to AP/AR accountants and collaborate closely with controlling, treasury, tax advisors, and auditors while supporting the development of a modern, international finance organization.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under HGB and IFRS standards
• Take independent responsibility for accounting operations across multiple entities
• Provide technical leadership and support to AP/AR accounting staff
• Contribute to group reporting and intercompany reconciliations
• Prepare VAT advance returns and other statutory tax filings
• Coordinate and provide technical support during annual audits and tax audits
• Participate in the ongoing development of the Oracle NetSuite ERP system
• Analyze and optimize accounting processes
• Work closely with controlling, treasury, and operations teams

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed commercial training with additional qualification as Bilanzbuchhalter or comparable qualification
• Minimum five years of professional experience in accounting, including several years of independent responsibility for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting standards
• Experience working in a group/consolidated environment
• Good German and English language skills (minimum B2 level)
• Proficient in Excel; ERP experience (such as NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics) is advantageous
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
