About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential academic medical center seeking a Grants Financial Analyst II to join their Department of Medicine. This is a remote, full-time position based in the United States, managing post-award grant activities and supporting pre-award processes for research faculty portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison to accounting teams to resolve issues and coordinate year-end financial processes
- Track and maintain online databases of grant submissions, awards, and rejections
- Collaborate with principal investigators to provide fund management and implement budgetary changes
- Approve purchasing documents and guide staff on appropriate expenditures according to grant-specific policies
- Update and forecast grant expenditures for faculty research portfolios
- Ensure timely implementation of contracts and subcontracts by managing processes and compliance requirements
- Create and process correspondence of moderate to high complexity with granting agencies (carry-forward requests, no-cost extensions, effort changes, budget reallocations)
- Obtain signatures and distribute grant financial status reports to investigators and leadership
- Monitor invoices for outgoing subawards and coordinate grant-related information requests
- Manage grant account closures, including final progress reports and invention statements
- Assist with day-to-day grant financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, budgets, and financial reporting
- Support pre-award activities: proposal coordination, budget development, Other Support documentation, regulatory compliance tracking
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of relevant experience in grants administration or financial management
- Understanding of grant financial processes and agency guidelines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong analytical thinking and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities
Preferred:
- Experience with grants accounting and computerized accounting systems
- Familiarity with Workday software or similar enterprise systems
- Knowledge of federal agency grant guidelines and compliance requirements
- Prior experience in academic medical or research settings
