About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential web infrastructure company seeking an exceptional Visual Designer to join their Website Design Engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to shape the visual language of products used by millions of developers and leading technology companies worldwide.

Your work will define how a major developer-focused brand shows up across digital and physical touchpoints—from high-traffic web properties and product launches to event experiences and brand partnerships. You'll collaborate directly with design engineers who transform your vision into production code, ensuring your work ships at the highest level of craft.

This role can be remote across the USA or hybrid in SF, NY, London, or Berlin. Hybrid team members work in-office Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Responsibilities

• Define the visual direction for major web properties, product launches, and flagship events that reach millions of users
• Create memorable brand moments: hero animations, launch films, event environments, and cross-medium brand experiences
• Own creative vision end-to-end, from initial concept through shipped production work alongside engineering partners
• Establish craft standards for typography, motion, and interaction detail that set the benchmark for excellence
• Work fluidly across mediums including web, motion graphics, illustration, 3D, and environmental design
• Contribute to and influence the organization's design system through work that becomes the standard

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of professional design experience with a distinctive creative voice and exceptional visual instincts
• Portfolio demonstrating brand systems and multi-medium work, anchored by strong shipped web design
• Hands-on expertise across several areas: motion design, 3D, illustration, environmental/event design, and interaction design
• Systems-thinking approach: you design reusable components and patterns that scale
• Proven track record shaping launch moments, events, or brand partnerships under real production deadlines
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams and understanding of web as a medium—how layouts behave and design translates to code
• Experience in technology-driven environments; background with developer tools, B2B, or SaaS products preferred
• Self-starter mentality with excellent feedback skills in both directions
• Familiarity with modern web development platforms and workflows

Bonus qualifications:

• Ability to prototype in React, Tailwind, or similar frameworks
• Experience contributing to design systems at scale

Important note: This is first and foremost a visual design role. We're hiring for your creative eye and ideas. Design engineers handle production code, though you're welcome to get hands-on when you choose. Coding is never a requirement.
