About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization based in Heidelberg, Germany. We are seeking a Senior IT Services Lead to take on technical leadership of their IT services function, ensuring smooth daily operations and reliable service delivery. This role offers up to two days of mobile office per week and is available as a full-time position (40 hours) at the earliest possible start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for the IT services team, acting as a sparring partner for team members and the IT Manager while ensuring smooth daily operations and reliable service delivery
  • Work hands-on in IT support when needed, supporting complex requests and IT incidents while actively contributing technical expertise
  • Coordinate and prioritize team tasks, ensuring clear responsibilities, balanced workload distribution, and reliable coverage
  • Continuously develop IT service processes, standards, and documentation while identifying opportunities for standardization and automation
  • Recognize recurring problems and inefficient workflows, implementing sustainable improvements to service quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with the IT Manager on priorities, escalations, and improvement initiatives while handling operational team coordination

What We're Looking For

  • University degree or vocational training in IT, or comparable practical experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT services, IT operations, or IT support—ideally with experience in technical team leadership
  • Strong technical expertise combined with a hands-on mentality and enjoyment in both developing solutions independently and supporting others technically
  • Experience with IT service management, ticket and request management, documentation, and process standards
  • Ability to set priorities, coordinate workloads, and ensure reliable service delivery in a dynamic environment
  • Strong knowledge of workplace IT, identity and access management, endpoint management, and SaaS applications
  • Proven experience optimizing processes and identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and efficiency gains
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
