Software IV&V Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology client seeking a Software IV&V Lead in Munich. Our talent team is supporting the search for an experienced professional who will serve as the independent verification and validation authority for complex autonomous systems software.

This role sits at the critical intersection of software development and system safety, ensuring every release meets the highest performance and reliability standards before deployment. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in software, hardware, and operations to maintain technical integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce overarching software testing frameworks and QA processes based on ISTQB standards across all capability teams
• Oversee setup and maintenance of software test environments, test data, and testing tool qualification
• Lead generation of audit-proof, revision-safe test evidence
• Supervise validation and verification phases of the V-Model, ensuring rigorous unit, integration, and sub-system-level testing
• Deliver transparency in bidirectional traceability between software requirements, architectural design, implementation, and testing
• Establish and oversee defect, deviation, and problem management processes
• Drive adoption of strict coding standards using automated static analysis and code coverage metrics
• Verify compliance with Software Configuration Management processes, auditing baselines, versions, and reproducible builds
• Provide independent quality gate approvals and formal release recommendations for software release candidates
• Lead preparation, execution, and follow-up for internal QA assessments and external regulatory audits

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proven experience defining and enforcing software testing frameworks and QA processes based on ISTQB standards
• Deep expertise managing validation and verification phases of the V-Model for complex software systems
• Hands-on experience with automated static analysis tools and enforcing coding standards such as MISRA for C++
• Strong background in requirements traceability and managing interfaces between software requirements and test execution
• Solid knowledge of Software Configuration Management processes, including version control, reproducible builds, and release auditing
• Demonstrated capability in defect and deviation management with systematic tracking and resolution

Preferred:

• Professional experience within defense or aerospace sectors with safety-critical software systems
• Familiarity with preparing for and leading external regulatory audits and internal quality assessments
• Experience with flight testing operations or hardware-in-the-loop integration environments
