Working Student – Commercial Planning (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization in Leipzig, Germany, seeking a Working Student to support their Commercial Planning team. This is an excellent opportunity for a business or marketing student to gain hands-on experience in promotional campaign operations, customer retention activities, and performance analysis within a fast-paced commercial environment.

You will work closely with our client's planning team to ensure promotions launch smoothly, support parcel insert and retention mailing campaigns, and analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement. This role combines operational execution with analytical thinking, making it ideal for someone detail-oriented who enjoys both process and data.

Responsibilities

Promotion Operations:

• Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of promotional campaigns across multiple channels
• Maintain promotion schedules and ensure campaign information is complete and delivered on time
• Perform live checks once promotions launch, verifying offer visibility, pricing, discount logic, and messaging
• Flag issues quickly and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve them
• Document promotion mechanics, campaign setups, and operational learnings

Campaign and Retention Support:

• Support operational preparation of parcel insert campaigns and retention mailings
• Develop, validate, and clean audience files based on targeting criteria
• Ensure audience volumes meet agreed quantities and files are delivered accurately
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for smooth execution
• Maintain clear documentation of quantities, target groups, timings, and campaign status

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

• Monitor daily promotional performance including orders, revenue, conversion rate, margin, and other KPIs
• Prepare daily and campaign-level performance reports
• Create and maintain presentation materials for reviews, planning meetings, and business updates
• Identify performance developments, anomalies, and optimization opportunities
• Support post-campaign analysis and documentation of key learnings

Continuous Improvement:

• Contribute fresh ideas for promotion mechanics, campaign messaging, and customer incentives
• Research promotional trends, competitor activities, and best practices from e-commerce and retail
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and reporting templates
• Support brainstorming sessions and develop actionable proposals

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a degree programme in Business Administration, E-Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
• Interest in e-commerce, promotional strategy, customer retention, and commercial performance
• Highly structured, reliable, and detail-oriented working style, especially with deadlines and files
• Comfortable working with Excel or Google Sheets; experience with PowerPoint or Google Slides required
• Enjoy analyzing data and translating it into clear, actionable insights
• Confident communication in English
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of operational tasks, and ask questions when needed
