Praktikant (m/w/d) Lean Management / Operational Excellence

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential laboratory organization seeking an intern (m/f/d) for Lean Management and Operational Excellence. This internship combines hands-on process improvement work at Berlin facilities with support for enterprise-wide excellence initiatives.

Location: Berlin
Start: October 2026 or later
Duration: Minimum three months
Hours: 40 hours per week
Type: Internship (mandatory or voluntary)

Responsibilities

During your internship, you will analyze real operational processes at Berlin laboratory sites and develop concrete improvements alongside local teams. You will also support group-wide Lean activities including training sessions, workshops, communication initiatives, and campaigns.

• Document and analyze operational laboratory processes using value stream mapping, spaghetti diagrams, multi-moment studies, and similar tools
• Own a detailed study or Lean initiative from problem definition through solution development, implementation, and results presentation
• Collect and analyze relevant KPIs and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvement measures
• Develop practical solutions with on-site teams in areas such as 5S, FIFO, visual management, and process standardization
• Support preparation, organization, and documentation of Lean workshops, training sessions, and other events
• Create presentations, posters, templates, and communication materials for the group-wide Operational Excellence network
• Handle administrative and organizational tasks supporting group-wide Lean activities and campaigns
• Present analyses, developed measures, and achieved results to involved teams and relevant decision-makers
• Provide project support at additional sites within the DACH region as needed

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable field
• Interest in a minimum three-month mandatory or voluntary internship
• Strong interest in Lean Management, Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, and operational process analysis
• Analytical, structured, and independent working style with enthusiasm for developing and implementing improvement measures collaboratively
• Excellent communication skills and enjoyment working with diverse stakeholders in a multi-site environment
• Very good German and English language skills, written and spoken
• Willingness to work regularly on-site at Berlin laboratories and occasionally travel within the DACH region
• Initial practical experience in Lean Management, continuous improvement, process optimization, or KPI analysis is advantageous but not required
