Bilingual Science PhD – Fully Remote | Upto $65/hr Part-time

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Bilingual Finnish STEM Expert (PhD) for a fully remote, part-time contract role. Our client is building advanced safety systems for AI models and needs scientific domain expertise combined with native Finnish fluency.

This is an excellent opportunity for PhD-level scientists who want to apply their training to cutting-edge AI safety work while maintaining schedule flexibility. You will work independently and asynchronously from anywhere in Finland or Western Europe.

Responsibilities

• Write expert-level prompts in Finnish across specialized scientific topics
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations
• Work independently and asynchronously to enhance AI model safety in handling specialized technical topics in Finnish

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

• PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field
• Native or near-native fluency in Finnish and business-level written English
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques in your subfield
• Sound judgment around scientific safety and the responsible handling of dual-use information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Based in Finland or the wider Western Europe region
• Expertise in radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics
• Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics
• Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content
