We are representing a confidential client in the hospitality technology sector, seeking a Data Engineer to join their team in Düsseldorf. Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, you will be part of a specialized data insights team working across multiple centers of excellence. Your core responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and operating scalable data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, AI, and business decision-making
- Delivering data products within cross-functional squads and translating business requirements into reliable, cost-efficient technical solutions
- Developing and maintaining both batch and real-time data processing solutions on Google Cloud using modern ETL/ELT practices
- Establishing data engineering standards, guardrails, and best practices to enable safe experimentation while protecting production environments
- Enabling AI and machine learning initiatives through adoption of Vertex AI, Model Garden, and GenAI orchestration frameworks
- Developing integrations, APIs, and workflow orchestration processes to ensure reliable and scalable data movement across systems
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in data engineering and cloud platforms:
- Proven experience designing and operating distributed data systems and processing large-scale datasets
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with working knowledge of Java and software engineering best practices
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud technologies, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Run, and Pub/Sub
- Experience building and orchestrating data pipelines using tools such as DBT, Airflow, Spark, and API-based integrations
- Familiarity with machine learning and GenAI technologies, including Vertex AI, Model Garden, LangChain, or similar orchestration frameworks
- Fluent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
