Senior Product Manager Service Subscriptions (m/w/d)

We are representing a fast-growing cleantech organization in Berlin that is transforming how residential properties approach energy efficiency and climate-neutral living. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Product Manager to take end-to-end ownership of a service subscription product within their aftersales portfolio.

In this role, you will be commercially accountable for designing, pricing, and scaling a maintenance subscription offering. You'll define tariff structures, service levels, pricing models, contribution margins, and the make-or-buy logic across the entire subscription lifecycle—from contract design through billing, renewals, and churn management.

Responsibilities

• Own the full subscription product: tariff tiers, included vs. billable services, service-level commitments, and customer value propositions
• Build and defend the commercial foundation: pricing, unit economics, cost per contract, reserves, break-even analysis, indexation rules, and cancellation logic
• Shift the subscription offering upstream into the sales process and equip sales and service teams with arguments, materials, and clear workflows
• Collaborate with legal and external advisors to develop contracts, terms, and customer-facing documentation that are legally robust and commercially sound
• Define requirements for checkout, CRM, contract data models, entitlement logic, billing, and dunning systems; migrate existing contracts and iterate the product
• Work directly with service operations, review claims and service data, and engage the teams executing the product day-to-day
• Use AI and low-code tools to build prototypes and automation, while understanding when engineering resources are required

What We're Looking For

• University degree in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, business informatics, or a comparable field—or equivalent hands-on experience
• Minimum five years of professional experience, including at least three years in product management for a commercially accountable subscription, service, or contract product
• Proven track record setting prices, owning margins, and managing the commercial impact of decisions on churn, claims, or service costs
• Strong commercial and quantitative skills: you build and stress-test business cases yourself, identify the assumptions that could break the model, and make clear decisions based on that analysis
• AI-first mindset: comfortable using AI and low-code platforms to prototype, automate, and solve problems, while recognizing when professional engineering is needed
• Contract fluency: able to work precisely with legal teams and external counsel, and spot early when a commercial idea needs regulatory or legal adjustment
• Hands-on approach: you go into service organizations, read claims data, and talk to the people delivering the product; you hold a reasoned position even under pushback and adjust when the facts demand it
• Fluent German (minimum C1) and good English (minimum B2)
• Deep domain knowledge of heat pumps or heating systems is not required and will not be assessed during the process—the client has that expertise in-house
