Senior Product Manager, Profiles Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing SaaS organization seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead their core customer data platform. This is a critical infrastructure role where you will own the strategy and roadmap for how customer profile data is structured, processed, and served across the entire product ecosystem. Your work will directly impact downstream capabilities including segmentation, automation workflows, reporting, and analytics.

This platform team is responsible for maintaining the source of truth for customer data at massive scale, ensuring accuracy, performance, and usability as the business expands into enterprise and global markets. You'll be working on foundational systems that power every product experience.

Location: Boston, MA (onsite 5 days/week required). Fully remote candidates cannot be considered.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for the core profile data system, including data traits, transformations, and storage architecture
• Serve as product owner for the customer data source of truth used across all platform products
• Partner with engineering teams to evolve data architecture and services capable of handling billions of profiles and high-throughput workloads
• Collaborate with identity, data governance, and consent teams to ensure unified and accurate customer records
• Drive improvements in data quality, modeling, and usability for consumption by segmentation, workflow automation, analytics, and AI systems
• Build a computed properties platform to support derived customer traits such as lifetime value, recency/frequency metrics, and propensity scoring
• Scale ingestion systems while optimizing for cost and performance through sharding, traffic smoothing, and efficient write patterns
• Enable global expansion by supporting data residency requirements, regional infrastructure, and compliance needs
• Support identity quality initiatives including deduplication, multi-identifier profiles, and probabilistic matching
• Define and track metrics around data quality, system performance, and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in platform infrastructure, data systems, or backend services
• Experience with data models, pipelines, or large-scale distributed systems
• Comfort operating in highly technical environments and partnering closely with engineering teams
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment across multiple stakeholder groups
• Systems thinking approach with understanding of tradeoffs between scale, cost, performance, and usability
• Ability to balance long-term platform investments with immediate product needs
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts into business impact

Preferred:

• Experience with customer data platforms or identity resolution systems
• Familiarity with data modeling, event pipelines, or storage technologies (key-value stores, streaming ingestion)
• Background supporting enterprise-scale or high-volume systems
• Exposure to AI or analytics platforms that depend on structured customer data
• Experience with data residency, privacy regulations, or compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA)

Pay

The client has indicated a base salary range of $136,000–$204,000 USD for this position, varying by location and experience. Total compensation includes participation in annual bonus plans, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

This role may require up to 10% travel for onboarding, team meetings, and industry events.
