Principal AI Architect

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Principal AI Architect to join their enterprise architecture team. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the design and implementation of AI/ML solutions that directly impact clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient care across a large-scale healthcare environment.

Location: United States (Remote)

Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

As Principal AI Architect, you will:

• Design and implement enterprise AI architectures supporting Generative AI, Machine Learning, Conversational AI, Intelligent Automation, Predictive Analytics, and Clinical Decision Support
• Develop architecture patterns, standards, and reference designs for AI solutions across cloud and hybrid environments
• Create scalable, resilient, and secure AI platforms with integration approaches connecting AI systems to enterprise applications and data platforms
• Architect solutions that leverage healthcare data while maintaining strict privacy and security requirements
• Design integrations with healthcare and business systems including EHR, ERP, HR, and collaboration platforms
• Support implementation of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7, FHIR, CDA, DICOM, and X12
• Collaborate with data architects and engineers to establish AI-ready data pipelines and governance frameworks
• Ensure AI solutions comply with HIPAA, HITECH, organizational security standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements
• Establish controls for model governance, monitoring, auditability, and responsible AI practices
• Conduct architecture reviews and risk assessments for AI initiatives
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, vendors, platforms, and frameworks
• Lead proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives for new AI capabilities
• Partner with clinical, operational, and business leaders to identify AI opportunities and translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly recommendations

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field (Master's degree preferred)
• 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, application architecture, data architecture, or software engineering
• 3+ years of experience designing AI, machine learning, analytics, or automation solutions
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
• Experience designing enterprise integrations using APIs, event-driven architecture, or middleware platforms
• Experience working with complex enterprise systems and data environments

Preferred:

• AI and Cloud architecture certifications
• Healthcare industry experience
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance and data privacy standards
