About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare organization in their search for a Director of Revenue Cycle Operations. This is a leadership role overseeing the full scope of revenue cycle functions, including hospital billing, claims processing, cash posting, accounts receivable management, denial recovery, and vendor oversight. You'll lead operational improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with payer requirements and optimizing the patient financial experience.

This position may be performed remotely from select states: AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all revenue cycle operations including hospital billing, claims management, cash posting, accounts receivable follow-up, denial management, credit balance resolution, and reimbursement activities
  • Identify, implement, and continuously improve revenue cycle processes across patient account workflows to maximize operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Integrate revenue cycle processes into hospital systems workflows, including Epic Resolute Hospital Billing configuration, work queues, charge review, claim edits, denial trending, and productivity monitoring
  • Analyze and track key performance indicators including days in AR, aged receivables, collections, clean claim rate, denial rate, denial recovery, DNFB/DNS activity, productivity, and quality metrics
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, governmental, managed care, and commercial reimbursement methodologies and ensure organizational compliance
  • Oversee vendor relationships and strategic business partners, establishing service level expectations, performance benchmarks, scorecards, and corrective action plans
  • Supervise, train, and develop the Patient Financial Services team, including performance management, cross-training, and succession planning
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets while protecting organizational assets through monitoring of cash, adjustments, reconciliation activity, and applicable controls
  • Support patient-centered billing practices with clear, compassionate communication regarding financial assistance and payment options

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Government, managed care, and Commercial Insurance filing regulations and reimbursement methodologies
  • Experience with Epic revenue cycle workflows, including Resolute Hospital Billing, claims, remittance, work queues, reporting, or post-implementation optimization
  • HIPAA compliance expertise

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Progressive revenue cycle leadership experience within an acute care hospital or integrated delivery system
  • Demonstrated experience managing patient accounts, billing, AR follow-up, denials, cash posting, claims processing, revenue recovery, vendor relationships, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing, Epic Revenue Cycle Administration, Epic Cogito, or HFMA certification
