(Senior / Staff) IT Operations Specialist (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology company in their search for a Senior or Staff IT Operations Specialist based in Berlin. Our client is building next-generation systems that integrate solar, battery storage, heat pumps, and e-mobility solutions. This role serves as the primary technical partner for central employees, ensuring productivity through exceptional support, strategic projects, and technology consulting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated technical counterpart for holding and central office employees, building trusted relationships across the organization
• Manage Level 1, 2, and 3 technical support tickets with focus on fast turnaround through stakeholder familiarity
• Triage and discuss tickets to improve technical understanding rather than simply escalating issues
• Monitor support queues across markets for urgent out-of-hours requests and action as necessary
• Guide and delegate Level 1 and 2 tickets to working students while maintaining accountability
• Lead technology rollout projects such as Chrome OS deployment and tool consolidation initiatives
• Own inbound projects from internal teams, including tailored onboarding experiences and workflow automation
• Provide technology consulting by enabling teams with existing tools through training sessions
• Benchmark and technically own new applications when no existing solutions meet requirements
• Champion AI tooling adoption to boost employee productivity, serving as the go-to resource for basic and advanced AI implementations
• Travel primarily between Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg as needed

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in IT systems, systems engineering, or related fields
• Experience with IT support ticketing best practices and ticket analysis
• Proven ability to lead a small, assertive team
• Strong independent worker who also collaborates effectively on technology projects
• Profound knowledge of Google Workspace, Office 365, and Mobile Device Management platforms (JAMF and Intune)
• Deep familiarity with SaaS applications surrounding employee productivity, collaboration, and security (Zoho CRM experience is a significant plus)
• Expertise in AI tooling specifically related to employee productivity
• Ability to utilize scripting for bespoke functions; experience with HTML, CSS, AppScript, Python, and Cursor AI
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and code deployment practices (highly valued)
• Generalist knowledge of office infrastructure including office WLAN systems
• Comprehensive domain management knowledge with proven disciplinary action
• Excellent people skills with ability to persuade and consult non-technical stakeholders on technical solutions
• Demonstrated design thinking methodology
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile environments while adapting to changing priorities
• Relevant IT Bachelor's or Master's degree; certifications related to MTD or MAM are advantageous
• Fluency in both German and English (written and verbal)
• Willingness to travel within Germany
