Croatian Science Expert – Fully Remote | Upto $52/hr Part-time

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential AI research organization, is seeking a bilingual Croatian STEM expert to support model safety initiatives. In this fully remote, part-time contract role, you will:

• Write expert-level prompts in Croatian across specialized scientific topics
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations
• Work independently and asynchronously to ensure AI model safety and improve handling of technical topics

What We're Looking For

Required:

• PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field (ongoing or completed)
• Native or near-native fluency in Croatian, plus business-level written English
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques in your subfield
• Sound judgment around scientific safety and the responsible handling of dual-use information

Preferred:

• Based in Croatia or the wider Eastern Europe region
• Radiological and nuclear coverage from a chemistry background
• Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics
• Research or coursework on chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content
