About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential aerospace client in Bordeaux, France, seeking a Supply Chain Quality Engineer focused on Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Test (MAIT) operations. This role combines supplier quality management with hands-on quality assurance in advanced manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Quality:
- Provide input for supplier and subcontractor quality requirements in proposals and contracts
- Perform surveillance activities on contract execution regarding quality aspects
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors on nonconformance resolution
- Participate in contracted quality and engineering gates
- Accept subcontracted products through Delivery Review Boards and provide certificates of acceptance
MAIT Quality:
- Plan and execute quality inspections at incoming, key manufacturing stages, and before release to customers or next integration phase
- Support detection, documentation, and containment of nonconformances
- Assist in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and follow up on rework or repair implementation
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions in coordination with engineering and MAIT
- Provide day-to-day quality support to manufacturing operations
- Review and approve MAIT procedures and monitor compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and aerospace quality standards
- Coordinate qualification of special processes based on EN9100 (welding, non-destructive testing, etc.)
- Train MAIT staff on quality procedures and best practices
- Coordinate calibration activities
- Lead quality improvement projects and analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement areas
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of quality standards including EN/AS9100 and ISO 9001
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection techniques (visual, dimensional, electrical), and GD&T
- Experience with nonconformance management systems and root cause analysis tools (8D, 5-Whys, Ishikawa)
- Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, control plans, and statistical analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is desirable
- Experience with welding qualification processes is desirable
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment
- French and English language skills appropriate for the role
