About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential enterprise technology organization seeking a Director, APAC Go-to-Market based in Singapore. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a regional business from the ground up for a fast-growing company with strong conviction in the Asia Pacific market.
As the founding commercial leader for APAC, you will own the regional strategy, build the team, develop the partner ecosystem, and be directly accountable for pipeline creation and revenue growth. You will have significant autonomy to determine how to win in the region while remaining closely connected to global teams in North America and EMEA.
This role reports to the President and offers the chance to build something meaningful from scratch—establishing a durable, high-performing APAC business for a technology company with strong product-market fit and ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Own regional revenue targets: Be accountable for APAC pipeline creation and revenue growth. Establish clear targets, build execution plans, maintain forecasting discipline, and continuously adjust based on market feedback and data.
- Build and execute the APAC go-to-market strategy: Determine which markets, customer segments, use cases, and routes to market offer the greatest opportunity. Translate global strategy into a focused regional plan that recognizes the unique dynamics of APAC markets.
- Build a high-performing regional team: Recruit, lead, and develop exceptional sellers and customer-facing talent across Sales Development, Account Executives, Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, and Partner Marketing. Create the culture, operating rhythms, and accountability required for a small team to move quickly and perform at a high level.
- Lead from the front with customers: Personally engage in the most important opportunities in the region. Build relationships with senior technical and business leaders, help navigate complex enterprise sales cycles, and serve as executive sponsor for strategic customers.
- Establish regional presence: Represent our client with customers, partners, and at industry events. Develop relationships and market intelligence that allow the organization to identify opportunities earlier than competitors.
- Be the voice of APAC internally: Build strong perspectives on regional customers, competitors, partners, buying behavior, and market dynamics. Bring these insights into decisions about product, packaging, marketing, partnerships, and future investments.
- Build for long-term scale: Identify what capabilities and investments are needed next, make thoughtful resource tradeoffs, and build systems that can scale beyond the initial phase.
What We're Looking For
- Significant enterprise technology GTM experience: Meaningful experience leading Sales or broader GTM organizations across APAC, with a proven track record of owning and exceeding pipeline and revenue targets in B2B technology.
- You have built a region before: Experience helping build or materially scale an APAC business from an early stage, rather than only operating within an already mature regional organization.
- Deep APAC market knowledge: Strong familiarity with the regional technology market and experience operating successfully across multiple countries and cultures, with particularly strong knowledge of Singapore and Southeast Asia.
- Established partner ecosystem relationships: Demonstrated track record of turning channel and partner relationships into measurable commercial outcomes in the region.
- Strong talent network: Ability to attract exceptional GTM talent in APAC, with clear understanding of what great sellers and solutions engineers look like.
- Hands-on deal leadership: Comfortable leading complex enterprise opportunities personally, moving seamlessly from regional strategy to customer meetings and deal reviews while materially improving outcomes.
- Technical product experience: Experience selling highly technical products to sophisticated buyers. Background with infrastructure, networking, security, developer tools, cloud, or adjacent enterprise technology is particularly relevant.
- Strong commercial judgment: Deep understanding of pipeline mathematics, forecasting, unit economics, market prioritization, and where to invest limited resources for greatest return.
- Cross-functional leadership: Ability to lead a regional team while partnering effectively with global Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Excellent communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication with executive presence in front of customers, partners, candidates, and internal leaders.
- Builder's mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, limited infrastructure, and changing plans. Knows how to introduce enough process and structure to improve execution without slowing the organization down.
- High agency, low ego: Willing to personally do the work required to establish the region while simultaneously building an organization that will eventually make you less central to every decision.
- Forward-looking perspective: Strong point of view on how technology GTM is changing and what those changes mean for winning customers and building partnerships in APAC.
