Product Owner, Accounting Stack (entire Business Suite)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is building a unified financial platform for high-revenue business owners. Our client is looking for a Product Owner to own the entire Accounting Stack—the integrations, workflows, and tools that closely held businesses and their accounting teams rely on to run financial operations.

This is a remote role open to candidates in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Responsibilities

You will own the full accountants stack, building for the bookkeepers, controllers, fractional CFOs, and outside CPAs who live in this software daily. Your work will include:

• Defining strategy and owning the connectivity layer to major accounting and ERP systems including QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and others
• Building expense management that works for both business owners and the accountants reconciling on their behalf—receipt capture, GL coding, approval workflows, and seamless integration
• Owning bill pay and AR/AP workflows from invoice receipt to vendor payment, from invoice sent to customer payment, with full reconciliation
• Building the invoicing product from the ground up based on customer demand
• Architecting the connection between business and personal financial data to serve the integrated financial lives of business owners
• Partnering with banking, credit, cards, and payments product owners to ensure clean financial flows across the entire platform
• Translating the controller, CFO, and CPA persona for the broader product and engineering organization

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who understands how business owners and their accounting teams actually operate. You should have:

• Years of experience thinking about financial operations for business owners and the accountants who serve them—you know the difference between a bookkeeper, controller, fractional CFO, and outside accountant, and you have built product for at least one of them
• Deep, hands-on familiarity with at least two of: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or Acumacula—not surface knowledge, but actual building or integration experience
• The ability to journal a transaction without looking it up; understanding of accrual versus cash basis, the close cycle, 1099 reporting, and audit trail requirements
• Experience building either inside an accounting platform, on top of one as an integration partner, or in a fintech product that lives natively in the accounting workflow
• Understanding of the accountant channel and how CPAs influence product adoption (bonus if you have built for or partnered with CPAs directly)
• Typically 4 to 10 years of relevant experience—what matters most is the quality of your work and depth of domain knowledge
