About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization based in Paris that is experiencing rapid international expansion. Our client is seeking a Logistics Manager to own the complete logistics function—from internal inventory management and equipment procurement to field deployment operations across France and Europe.

This is a hands-on, field-connected role with significant operational responsibility. You will ensure mission-critical equipment arrives at the right location, at the right time, in perfect condition, and in full regulatory compliance. You will support live demonstrations, NATO exercises, and operational deployments in demanding environments where precision and reliability are non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end equipment inventory management: tracking, procurement, maintenance coordination, and lifecycle management for specialized technical systems
• Design and maintain rigorous asset tracking systems ensuring every item is referenced, located, and accounted for
• Plan and execute all equipment shipments across France, Europe, and select international destinations
• Manage customs clearance and export control compliance for dual-use and defense equipment, including French export licenses and international regulatory requirements
• Own logistics for field deployments, live demonstrations, and operational exercises—primarily at French test sites and NATO facilities
• Be present on-site during major field campaigns to manage equipment handling, setup, problem-solving, and safe return
• Build and manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and specialist defense logistics providers
• Negotiate supplier contracts and manage logistics budgets with cost tracking and optimization
• Ensure all operations comply with French and international transport regulations for defense equipment, including IATA dangerous goods rules and ADR standards
• Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation for all shipments, export licenses, and field operations
• Produce structured post-deployment reports with lessons learned and process improvements

What We're Looking For

• 3–6 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations with exposure to defense, aerospace, dual-use, or technically complex equipment
• Proven hands-on experience managing shipments, customs clearance, and freight coordination within France and internationally
• Prior exposure to French export control regulations (AECA/CIEEMG) and processes with French defense authorities is a strong plus
• Experience supporting field operations, live demonstrations, or equipment deployments at French military test ranges or similar environments is highly valued
• Background with French defense organizations or defense logistics providers is a significant advantage
• Hands-on and field-oriented: equally comfortable managing warehouse inventory and on-site deployment logistics
• Rigorous and meticulous with asset tracking, documentation, and compliance
• Calm under pressure with strong real-time problem-solving skills during field operations
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation capabilities
• Strong negotiation skills with logistics service providers
• French fluency is mandatory for coordination with French military, regulatory authorities, and domestic suppliers
• English proficiency is mandatory for international shipments, export documentation, and occasional international missions
• Comfortable operating within the security culture of a defense environment: discretion, access control, and sensitive equipment handling
