Manager I, Engineering – Applied AI/ML Product Analytics Suite

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential observability and analytics platform in their search for an Engineering Manager to lead their Applied AI/ML team in Paris. This is a high-impact, greenfield opportunity where you'll build and scale a team of Applied Scientists working at the intersection of product analytics and artificial intelligence.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and grow a team of Applied Scientists who research, prototype, and deploy AI/ML capabilities across analytics products
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for agentic AI features including event understanding, conversational analytics, automated insight reporting, and session analysis
• Stay hands-on as a technical contributor and code reviewer, bridging the gap between research prototypes and production-grade systems
• Shape how AI capabilities are architected and integrated across the product suite, partnering with product and engineering leadership
• Recruit and onboard Applied Scientists as the organization scales its AI/ML investment
• Represent your team's progress and technical priorities to stakeholders across the organization

What We're Looking For

• Proven technical leadership experience with a strong background in applied AI/ML, ideally including hands-on research or applied science work
• People management experience (whether established or early-career) combined with deep technical credibility
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, early-stage environments where you'll define direction rather than execute against established roadmaps
• Track record taking ML/AI capabilities from research prototype to production, preferably in analytics, NLP, or user-behavior domains
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex AI/ML concepts for cross-functional stakeholders
• Motivation to tackle early-stage, high-impact problems and thrive in the uncertainty that accompanies them
