About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential financial technology organization in the United Kingdom that is seeking a talented Technical Writer to join their Documentation team. This is a remote opportunity with a requirement to attend the office on your first day for equipment collection and initial onboarding.
As part of a small, highly collaborative documentation team, you will make a tangible impact on how easily complex payment services can be implemented and configured. You'll be creating and maintaining API documentation, user manuals, technical specifications, and tutorials that serve both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and maintain API documentation for payment services, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and ease of understanding
- Develop user-friendly technical documentation including Product User Manuals, Technical Specifications, and Technical Tutorials
- Lead knowledge management projects using AI tools to ensure documentation evolves alongside products and services
- Maintain a centralized and organized repository, ensuring consistency and clarity across all technical documentation
- Manage and maintain Postman collections and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, keeping endpoint definitions and schemas synchronized
- Gather feedback to continuously refine documentation based on real-user technical requirements
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to support internal documentation needs
- Stay informed about industry trends and regularly update content accordingly
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience writing technical documentation specifically for APIs, cloud-based software, or SaaS systems
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Markdown, Swagger, and Postman
- Comfort with AI prompting and modern AI knowledge management tools
- Familiarity with version control systems including Git and GitHub
- Sound understanding of coding, APIs, and cloud-based architectures
- Exceptional attention to detail with advanced writing, proofreading, and editing skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English (native level or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing stakeholders and building relationships within remote, cross-functional teams
- Ability to create high-quality materials for both technical and non-technical audiences
