We are representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Coding Quality Manager to lead their coding audit and education initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to shape quality standards, mentor a team of coding professionals, and serve as a trusted advisor on documentation and regulatory compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee ongoing coding quality audit programs for provider services encounters
• Identify high-risk areas and execute audit monitoring activities to evaluate compliance with regulations, policies, and coding standards
• Create and implement standardized audit methodologies while ensuring team adherence to goals and schedules
• Design presentations and deliver education sessions to providers, coders, and revenue cycle teams through teleconferencing platforms
• Provide leadership and direction to a team of Coding Auditor and Educators, including coaching on provider education delivery
• Maintain current knowledge of Official Coding Guidelines, CMS directives, ICD-10-CM, and CPT coding standards through ongoing education
• Support internal departments with coding questions, reviews, and inquiries
• Review and prepare responses to external payer and compliance audits, including RAC and other regulatory audits
• Interpret and apply coding guidelines accurately across documentation reviews

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 3-4+ years of orthopedic surgery and/or Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding audit experience (other surgical specialties will be considered)
• 2+ years of supervisory or manager experience
• Current CPC, CPMA, COSC, or CEMC certification from AAPC (CCS-P or CCS from AHIMA will be considered with relevant experience)
• Must successfully pass pre-hire coding assessment
• Proficiency in MS Office products with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong technical knowledge of CMS regulatory guidelines, ICD-10 CM, CPT, HCPCS coding, and official coding guidelines
• Knowledge of disease pathophysiology, drug utilization, and NCCI edit structures
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work independently in a virtual setting under minimal supervision
• Detail-oriented with strong initiative and time management discipline

Preferred:

• Associate degree in health information management, health services administration, or related field
