About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential social technology client in Canada seeking a Senior Staff Data Scientist to lead ads measurement, signal quality, and privacy-aware measurement systems. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of causal inference, experimentation, and advertiser measurement in a rapidly evolving privacy landscape.
You will define the scientific strategy for how our client proves advertiser value, evaluates signal quality, and builds next-generation measurement products. This role requires deep expertise in experimentation, attribution, identity systems, and the ability to influence senior cross-functional leaders across product, engineering, and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Define the long-term data science vision and strategy across ads measurement, signal quality, identity resolution, attribution, and privacy-safe measurement frameworks
- Build rigorous evaluation frameworks for validating lift studies, attribution models, identity quality, modeled conversions, and signal loss recovery systems
- Lead evolution of experimentation and causal inference methodologies including brand lift, conversion lift, split testing, and incrementality measurement at scale
- Quantify how signal quality, match rates, identity resolution, and privacy changes impact bidding efficiency, CPA, ROAS, and advertiser outcomes
- Partner with modeling and ranking teams to translate measurement improvements into performance gains and optimization outcomes
- Establish privacy-first measurement paradigms that recover signal utility through compliant modeling approaches
- Create reusable data science infrastructure including methodologies, dashboards, scorecards, quality metrics, and best practices adopted organization-wide
- Influence senior leadership across product, engineering, sales, marketing science, and privacy teams to shape roadmap decisions
- Mentor staff and senior data scientists, raising the bar for causal inference, measurement science, and cross-functional decision-making
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Physics, or related quantitative field, or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of industry experience in data science, applied science, economics, or quantitative roles
- Deep expertise in ads measurement, experimentation, causal inference, attribution, marketplace measurement, or ads optimization
- Proven track record leading ambiguous, cross-functional, multi-pillar problem spaces with measurable business impact
- Strong command of statistical modeling, experimental design, causal inference, and measurement methodology
- Experience defining metrics, evaluation frameworks, quality guardrails, and decision systems for complex products
- Ability to balance long-term strategic vision with hands-on execution of complex technical work
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior product, engineering, and business leaders through clear technical communication
- Experience mentoring senior individual contributors and improving technical standards across data science organizations
- Agility in adopting AI tools to amplify output and turn complex methodologies into working prototypes efficiently
Preferred:
- Experience with ads identity systems, conversion modeling, signal loss mitigation, match-rate optimization, or identity graph evaluation
- Background in lift measurement, brand lift, conversion lift, incrementality testing, marketing mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, or third-party measurement partnerships
- Experience with privacy-constrained measurement, clean rooms, aggregation techniques, consent-aware systems, or privacy-preserving modeling
- Partnership experience with ranking, bidding, or machine learning teams connecting measurement quality to optimization outcomes
- Familiarity with two-sided marketplaces, auction systems, performance advertising, or advertiser-facing measurement products
- Track record building durable internal frameworks, training programs, scorecards, or methodology standards adopted across organizations
