Cloud Software Engineering Advisory Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization seeking a Cloud Software Engineering Advisory Lead based in the Philippines. Our client works with enterprise customers across multiple industries to modernize their technology platforms and drive digital transformation.

This is a strategic leadership role for an experienced cloud architect and software engineering leader who can guide enterprise clients through complex cloud transformation initiatives. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, combining deep technical expertise with consulting acumen to help organizations achieve their business objectives through modern cloud and software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of cloud-native and software engineering solutions aligned with enterprise client objectives
• Engage with stakeholders to assess cloud maturity, software architecture needs, and provide strategic advisory guidance
• Drive cloud transformation programs including migration, application modernization, integration architecture, and DevOps adoption
• Evaluate existing technology landscapes and recommend cloud architecture patterns and engineering best practices
• Lead cloud cost management and optimization initiatives through governance frameworks and resource planning
• Mentor and lead engineering teams across complex, multi-workstream delivery programs
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, software engineering methodologies, and agile delivery approaches
• Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and adherence to industry standards

What We're Looking For

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification required
• DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) certification required

Experience:

• At least 10 years of software development, architecture, and engineering experience
• Proven track record designing and implementing enterprise cloud solutions primarily within Microsoft Azure environments
• Extensive experience in cloud transformation, migration, modernization, systems integration, cloud security assessments, and FinOps
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams

Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in enterprise-grade cloud architecture and implementation, with primary focus on Microsoft Azure
• Solid understanding of enterprise networking, security principles, and identity and access management
• Experience with SaaS platforms and large-scale distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and implementation patterns
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Proficiency in data modeling, relational databases, and NoSQL databases
• Experience with distributed caching (Redis), messaging and event-streaming (Kafka, ActiveMQ), and search technologies (Elasticsearch)
• Experience with Azure DevOps services and cloud-based development practices
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and secure software engineering

Leadership & Communication:

• Proven ability to lead technical discussions, influence stakeholders, and drive successful outcomes across multiple teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with serverless and cloud-native technologies including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Container Apps
• Understanding of Generative AI concepts including Large Language Models and enterprise AI use cases
• Familiarity with Generative AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs, Azure OpenAI, or AWS Bedrock
