Director of Launch Operations

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Director of Launch Operations. Our client is a well-funded, high-growth technology company that has reached significant scale and is now redesigning how they activate thousands of clients across an expanding product portfolio.

This role owns the complete client activation experience—from onboarding through launch—and the internal platform that powers it. You will define the operating model for getting clients to value quickly, set the vision for the technology that supports that work, and directly ship improvements using AI and automation. This is not a coordination role. You will own a product (their internal launch platform), lead engineering resources, and fundamentally change how activation runs as volume scales.

Responsibilities

• Own the operating model behind client onboarding, launch, and activation across the full product set
• Set and drive the organization toward a materially higher bar for speed, consistency, and quality of activation
• Design how the work should run at 3x current volume and execute the transition to that model
• Own the internal launch platform as a product: vision, roadmap, prioritization, and what ships
• Direct dedicated engineering and Salesforce development resources against that roadmap
• Build AI capabilities directly into workflows, replacing manual work where software and agents should handle it instead
• Establish how activation performance is measured and understood across the business
• Lead a small team of senior operators and run a fast operating cadence with visible, prioritized execution
• Partner closely with implementation, professional services, and customer success leaders whose teams your work directly serves
• Translate between technical execution and executive strategy, making the case for change to senior stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in operations roles at a SaaS or technology company, including experience leading a team
• Direct experience running the operational layer behind implementation, onboarding, professional services, or delivery organizations
• Demonstrable track record of raising performance through operational improvement, not incremental tuning
• Experience building support for change across senior stakeholders with differing perspectives
• Background at high-growth companies, ideally between $100M and $500M in ARR
• Product mindset applied to operations: you have a vision, prioritize ruthlessly, and ship against it
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, able to make complex operational or technical problems clear to executive audiences
• Bridge technical and business conversations naturally without needing to translate
• Create urgency, hold the line on pace, and make slippage visible rather than letting it accumulate
• Personally high output—you get into the detail and do real work, not just coordinate
• Hands-on with AI in daily work, with real examples of workflows you've built or rebuilt around it
• Strong command of Salesforce and systems that support delivery organizations
• Comfortable working directly with engineers on what gets built and why
• Able to get to your own answers in data and skeptical of numbers you haven't reconciled
• Fluent in process design, workflow optimization, and capacity planning

Location: Remote within the United States, with preference for candidates based in Austin, Texas. Some travel expected.
