We are representing a confidential hospitality technology organization seeking a talented Data Engineer to join their growing data platform team in Düsseldorf. Our client is transforming how the restaurant and catering industry leverages data for business insights, analytics, and AI-driven innovation. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable data platforms and pipelines supporting analytics, AI, and business intelligence initiatives
- Develop and maintain batch and real-time data processing solutions on Google Cloud using modern ETL/ELT practices
- Deliver data products within cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into reliable, cost-efficient technical solutions
- Establish data engineering standards, best practices, and guardrails that enable safe experimentation while protecting production environments
- Enable AI and machine learning initiatives through adoption of cloud-based AI platforms and GenAI orchestration frameworks
- Develop integrations, APIs, and workflow orchestration processes ensuring reliable data movement across systems
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and engineers to evolve the data ecosystem
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience designing and operating distributed data systems and processing large-scale datasets
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with working knowledge of Java and software engineering best practices
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud technologies including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Run, and Pub/Sub
- Experience building and orchestrating data pipelines using tools such as DBT, Airflow, Spark, and API-based integrations
- Familiarity with machine learning and GenAI technologies, including Vertex AI, Model Garden, LangChain, or similar orchestration frameworks
- Fluent English communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
- Passion for scalable systems, cloud-native technologies, and AI-enabled data platforms
