Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential energy utility organization with operations across alpine regions. This role involves full project ownership of substation installations from technical conception through to commissioning. You will plan and design systems, components, and concepts for new installations, conversions, and renewals in medium and high voltage environments.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading substation projects in mountainous terrain with challenging access and weather-dependent construction windows
• Performing calculations, dimensioning work, and technical solution assessments
• Preparing tender documentation, obtaining quotes, and evaluating suppliers
• Managing project schedules, budgets, and interfaces to ensure smooth delivery
• Coordinating project teams and external vendors
• Supporting approval processes with relevant authorities
• Regular on-site presence in valleys and mountain regions

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a candidate with:

• Degree or further qualification in electrical engineering (university or polytechnic) or equivalent
• Several years of experience in substation engineering and project leadership within energy distribution—ideally in topographically challenging terrain
• Solid electrical engineering knowledge in medium and high voltage; experience with control and protection systems advantageous
• Fluent German; additional languages beneficial
• Strategic thinking, independence, and high level of commitment
• Willingness to work in remote alpine locations and travel accordingly

Depending on experience, a senior-level role with expanded overall responsibility is possible.
