Technical Manager, Water Infrastructure

Ramboll is seeking a Technical Manager, Water Infrastructure to join our engineering team in Rochester, New York. In this full-time position, you'll lead technical initiatives that address critical water systems and infrastructure challenges across our region and beyond.

What This Role Involves

As a Technical Manager, Water Infrastructure at Ramboll, you'll oversee the planning, design, and implementation of water infrastructure projects that serve communities and industries throughout the Northeast. This role combines technical expertise with team leadership, requiring you to manage both the engineering aspects of water systems and the professionals who develop solutions for them.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead technical teams in the planning and design of water supply, treatment, and distribution systems
• Manage project delivery across multiple water infrastructure initiatives, ensuring quality and compliance with environmental regulations
• Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to define project scope and technical requirements
• Review and approve technical documents, designs, and engineering solutions
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering technical growth and professional excellence
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and best practices in water infrastructure engineering

Who We're Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent technical credentials in civil or environmental engineering
• 5+ years of experience in water infrastructure, water treatment, or water resource management
• Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and leading complex engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of water infrastructure systems, hydraulics, and engineering design principles
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Experience with regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and public sector projects
