Senior Software Engineer – Data Ingestion & Extraction (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential regulatory technology client based in Munich. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their data engineering team. In this role, you will architect and build systems that extract structured information from complex documents and ensure data quality throughout the ingestion lifecycle. This is a hands-on position where you'll ship production code, collaborate with a talented engineering team, and solve challenging technical problems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and build services that extract structured data from documents at scale
• Create and maintain tooling to validate data correctness across ingestion pipelines
• Deploy and operate containerized applications in cloud environments
• Leverage AI coding assistants as part of your standard development workflow
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and engineering best practices
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience building data extraction systems at scale
• Senior-level experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Comfortable pairing with AI tools to enhance your development workflow
• Proficiency with Git, command-line tools, and containerized deployments (Docker)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in collaborative settings
• Willingness to work hybrid from the Munich office

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with regulatory or compliance data
• Background in ML pipelines or Large Language Models
• Full-stack development skills with modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
