Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization in München seeking a Tech Lead for software development. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to development teams while remaining hands-on with coding. You'll translate architectural requirements into concrete solutions and support teams in making sound technical decisions.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Technical leadership, coaching, and coding support for development teams
  • Implementation and evolution of architectural guidelines
  • Supporting development and rollout of new products and features
  • Ownership of technical quality for delivered software
  • Defining and enforcing development standards and best practices
  • Participating in architecture decisions and creating technical concepts
  • Supporting build and operation of containerized platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Contributing to deployments and CI/CD pipeline development
  • Ensuring security requirements and secure coding practices
  • Supporting monitoring, logging, and observability concepts
  • Analyzing and resolving technical challenges and performance issues
  • Coordinating technical activities within agile development teams
  • Conducting code reviews and promoting high software quality
  • Serving as technical contact for internal stakeholders and clients

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or comparable field
  • Several years of software development experience plus initial technical leadership experience
  • Experience with modern software architectures and agile development methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, container technologies, and CI/CD
  • Experience implementing scalable and maintainable software solutions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Structured, solution-oriented working style
  • Strong hands-on mentality and willingness to actively develop code
  • German language skills (minimum C1 level)
  • Negotiation-level English proficiency

Core technical competencies:

  • Container & Runtime: Docker, Linux
  • Infrastructure as Code: YAML-based models
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, on-premises environments
  • Data architectures: MSSQL, Kafka, Spark, PostgreSQL
  • Frontend frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue
  • Testing frameworks: JUnit, Cypress
  • Security & IAM: TLS, Keycloak, LDAP, OAuth
  • Development frameworks: SPA, Java, Spring, Spring Boot

Preferred additional skills:

  • Kubernetes experience
  • Monitoring and logging tools (Grafana)
  • BPMN and orchestration
  • Python and AI
  • Insurance or health insurance sector experience
  • Knowledge of insurance application architecture standards
  • Experience with regulatory requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001, BSI)
  • Architecture review and technical quality process experience
  • Track record implementing best practices and architecture governance
